With the bas-relief Meninas, I wanted to explore a new way of representing this icon and bring it into the space of the wall. The piece preserves the geometry, color, and polyhedral language of Mi Menina, but presents it from a single frontal perspective. It is not simply a matter of reducing volume, but of transforming the sculpture into a wall-mounted presence. Its planes continue to interact with light, creating depth, movement, and different nuances depending on the space and the time of day. For me, these Meninas offer another way of living with the work: they retain their visual strength and sculptural character while integrating into architecture in a more versatile and contemporary way. A reinterpretation conceived so that the Menina can also inhabit the walls.
