Gold Patina

The 21st-Century Menina was born from my admiration for Velázquez and from a question: how can one of the great icons in the history of art be reinterpreted today?

From that idea, I created the first Menina in a polyhedral form, built from 448 facets and brought into a contemporary language through geometry and color. A work that brings tradition and innovation together, looks toward the future, and preserves the power of its origins intact.

That was the intention behind the creation of this work.

Patina is a chemical process that uses acid and a torch to set the finish. As a result, the color and shading of the sculpture will be very similar to those shown in the photograph, though not identical.

In this case, the final adjustment of the patina — in terms of how light or dark it should be — will be agreed upon with the collector, either at the foundry or remotely.

All works are signed, numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Each work requires an artisanal production process, so production times may vary.

Each work comes with wheels integrated into the base to facilitate movement. It can be moved by one person without difficulty.

For international exports, a custom-made wooden crate will be produced.
