Dark Green Patina

The 21st-century Menina was born from my admiration for Velázquez and from a question: How can one of the great icons in the history of art be reinterpreted today?

From that idea, I created the first Menina in a polyhedral format, built upon 448 facets and brought into a contemporary language through geometry and color. A work that brings together tradition and innovation, looks toward the future, and preserves the strength of its origins intact.

This was the purpose I set for myself when creating this work.

The patina is created through a chemical process using acid and a torch to fix the finish. As a result, the color and shading of the sculpture will be very similar to those shown in the photograph, but never identical.

In this case, the final adjustment of the patina — its degree of lightness or darkness — will be agreed with the collector, either at the foundry or remotely.
All works are signed, numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Edition: 8 per patina.

Each work requires a handcrafted production process, so production times may vary.

For this size, a minimum production time of 10 weeks is required, although this may vary. Please contact us for further information.

Each work comes with integrated wheels in the base to make it easier to move. It can be moved by one person without difficulty.

For international shipments, a custom-made wooden crate will be provided.
