Cocky was born from the symbolic strength of the rooster: proud, courageous, and always ready to announce a new beginning. Its polyhedral body, composed of more than 400 facets, transforms that energy into a Cubist sculpture that is dynamic and full of character. For me, Cocky represents the optimistic fighter: someone who moves forward with determination, turns what makes them different into a source of strength, and faces whatever comes next with their head held high.
Cocky was born from a figure that is impossible to ignore: the rooster. A proud, alert, and combative animal, capable of announcing its presence even before it appears.
Its name plays on the meaning of cocky in English: self-assured, showy, even defiant. But behind that attitude lies a much deeper symbolism. Throughout history, the rooster has represented good fortune, protection, vigilance, and courage. It is the one that greets each new day with confidence, as if every dawn were a new opportunity to begin again.
When I imagined Cocky, I wanted to bring all of that energy into my own visual language. Its polyhedral body, made up of more than 400 facets, transforms the rooster’s silhouette into a fractal, Cubist sculpture. Each plane catches the light differently, creating a constant sense of movement, strength, and character.
Its crest and spurs also evoke a punk aesthetic: free, provocative, and unconcerned with rules. Cocky does not seek to go unnoticed or to conform. It claims its place naturally and turns difference into its greatest strength.
For me, Cocky embodies the archetype of the optimistic fighter: that way of moving forward with courage even when the path ahead is still unclear. It is not about feeling no fear, but about refusing to let fear have the final word.
This work speaks of pride, but not of empty arrogance. It speaks of the confidence that comes from recognizing oneself, accepting who one is, and standing by it without needing permission. It speaks of that energy that drives us to lift our heads, show our colors, and face whatever lies ahead.
Cocky is good fortune, rebellion, and determination made form.
A reminder that, sometimes, opening a new path begins simply by daring to take the first step with your head held high.
