With this sculpture, I wanted to pay tribute to those small presences that, without imposing themselves, can transform a space and ultimately leave a lasting impression. Each Poppin is made of resin and hand-painted, giving every piece its own unique identity.
Poppin was created as Poppi’s little brother and as the latest addition to a canine family that has grown little by little over time.
After Poppi, Pippa, Pippo, and Lump, I wanted to create a figure that felt more intimate, approachable, and endearing. One of those small presences that arrives quietly, yet eventually comes to occupy an essential place.
Although conceived on a petit scale, Poppin retains all the personality of the English bulldog: strong, expressive, and marked by that touch of seriousness that contrasts with the tenderness it conveys. I was especially interested in that duality: a compact, solid figure that, at the same time, creates an immediate emotional connection.
For me, Poppin represents the youngest member of the family, the one who observes, learns, and finds a place of his own. He does not need to impose himself in order to be noticed. His strength lies in closeness, in that ability to inspire affection through the everyday.
Each sculpture is made of resin and hand-painted, so color gives every piece its own individual identity. More than a miniature, Poppin is a work with an independent character, capable of preserving the Pop spirit of my sculptures in a more personal format.
With Poppin, I wanted to complete this canine family, but also to pay tribute to those small beings that transform a home simply through their presence.
