Bobby was created to celebrate the anniversary of Poppi, the first sculpture in my canine family and the beginning of a new chapter in my journey as an artist. I chose a life-size Boxer for its strength, nobility, and loyalty. For me, Bobby represents the guardian of the beginning: a steady and familiar presence that protects the memory of what we have lived through, while reminding us that growing also means carrying with us what made us who we are.
Bobby was created to celebrate a very special moment in my artistic journey: the anniversary of Poppi, the first sculpture that marked the beginning of my canine family and, in many ways, a new chapter in my life as an artist.
I wanted to create a work that looked back to that beginning without repeating it. That is why I chose a life-size Boxer: a strong, noble animal with a powerful presence, yet also affectionate, loyal, and deeply expressive.
For me, Bobby represents the archetype of the guardian. Not as a distant or imposing figure, but as a steady presence that accompanies, protects, and reminds us where we come from. Bobby guards the origin, while also looking toward the future.
Its life-size scale allows the work to inhabit a space in a very direct way. It is not perceived simply as a decorative object, but as a presence. It is there: attentive, calm, and defined by that combination of strength and tenderness that makes the Boxer such a special animal.
With Bobby, I wanted to celebrate everything that began with Poppi: the color, the character, the canine family, and this way of understanding sculpture as something close, emotional, and full of identity.
Each Bobby is painted and signed by me. It is a limited edition of 10 pieces per color, made of fiberglass, with each work retaining its own individual character.
Because evolving does not mean moving away from our origins, but carrying them with us as we continue to grow.
