I have always believed that art has the power to convey optimism, light and energy, and that is precisely what I wanted to bring to my collaboration with Carlos I.
The starting point was my visit to the Osborne cellars in El Puerto de Santa María, where I discovered a palette of colours that would ultimately shape the entire project: the golden tones of the brandy, the green of the vineyards, the blue of the sea, the colours of the sunsets and the bougainvillea that fill the gardens with colour.
For this collaboration, I created a one-and-a-half-metre Menina, designed exclusively for Osborne and exhibited at its cellars. The design was then transferred to the presentation case and bottle of the Carlos I x Felipao Limited Edition, turning one of my most recognisable figures into the visual thread running through the entire project.
The Menina also represents something Carlos I and I share: a balance between respect for tradition and a desire to evolve. For me, this collaboration was an opportunity to take my artistic language into a different territory and to show how art can engage with very different disciplines and worlds.
Over time, the project has also received two important distinctions: a Gold Medal at The Design & Packaging Masters 2024 and Gold at Best!N Food 2025, recognising the design and visual identity of this special edition.
